Just needed to get this off my chest!

My mom called me today. (We rarely see each other, we live about 3 hours away from each other.) She is really excited about me losing weight, but every time we talk about losing weight she tells me I do not want to get to my healthy weight. I just really can't understand this? This time she tells me I will have too much flab hanging if I get to my healthy weight. I just do not understand why I can't have a goal to get to a healthy weight? Even more, I just can't understand why she is not being more supportive. I just am lost. Everytime I talk to her, she has something I consider to be negative about my weight loss. I just do not understand? It kind of hurts!

I'm sorry Lorie! It's hard not to have the support you want from family. I don't know your mom, so I can't give you any advice as why she would be saying silly things like that. If I was hearing it and didn't know it was your mom, it would sound like jealousy. ((hugs)) hang in there. you DO deserve to get to your healthy weight!

I'm so sorry your mom isn't being supportive! I'd wonder if she was jealous, too. :-( Whatever the reason, it is too bad and really not fair to you! Don't let her discourage you from continuing to lose weight -- you are doing SO GOOD and I'm so proud of you!!!

Wow, that would kill me if my mother said that to me. She's supposed to be your biggest support and source of encouragement! To me it sounds like she's a bit jealous of your accomplishments and may not want you to succeed because it may highlight something she's failed it (perhaps weight loss. . . or something else). I don't know what the reason, but TRY and see past it and focus on the goal!! I truly KNOW you can do it :)
