Weekly Weigh-in Update

I lost 1 pound at Weght Watchers last night! Last week we talked about taking care of ourselves. We seem to do so much for others that we forget to take care of ourselves and make time for us. So, I've been thinking about this. I went for a walk on Saturday, it was the first sunny day in a long time, and cold, but I still went. Sometimes I have a hard time getting my exercise in because my dh gives me a guilt trip. I really don't know if he knows he does it but he really just wants me to stay at home and I can tell that. So, that makes it hard. We take the kids to the park and I go walking on the trail and he gets to play with the kids. He's told me before I need to play with the kids too. We have gotten them to walk with us on the trail with their scooters and they really enjoy that. So, figuring out how to get my exercise in and not feel guilty or let others make me feel guilty is hard right now.

Another thing I have really been thinking about is what kind of exercise to do. I keep hearing people say they do things like running. I just really do not ever think I will be a runner, mostly because I would never be motivated because I hate that. I love walking briskly though and it really does help me with my stress management. I think I will continue this and maybe pull out some of my Walk Away the Pounds tapes since it is getting so cold.

Goals this week:
1. Track my food- some weeks I do better than others on this, I used to never miss writing things down and I really don't know what got me out of that habit. But, I do know it is a bad habit to get out of!
2. Exercise- I need to find away to get time to myself to get this done.
3. Milk servings- I need to do better about getting in my milk servings. I bought some White Chocolate Peppermint smoothies at my weight watchers meeting this week. I used to have one of these everyday and I loved them since you can count them as 2 milk sevings if added with skim milk.
4. Water,Water,Water- Drink more!
5. Take my picture- Believe it or not, I just have not had the time to do this important thing!

Weigh-in Day and My Story Updated

Today is the first weigh in day of the Biggest Loser Challenge. I stepped it up a notch this month (in food intake, tracking better, drinking more liquids and exercising) and had such good results. I started the challenge at 265.4 and ended this month at 256.0. A 9.4 pound loss. I can really feel the difference in my clothes. Some of my pants were so tight I felt like I could not breathe and I can breathe now! I could not be happier with that and a lot of it came at the end of the month. I have finally got over that hump that I have been in all year and I know this challenge has had a lot to do with it! I am going to start doing full body pictures each month again and will post mine later today. I encourage anyone to do full body pictures because I have one for each month of the whole first year I started losing weight and it is fun to look at them and see how far I have come.

I also am working on personal goals for my weight loss. I met my 5% and 10% in Weight Watchers and never really set another goal. A reason goals are so important! I like the baby step goals Weight Watchers sets and plan to follow when setting my next goal. My next goal is to reach 241. I was so close before I started gaining back all of that weight. That will make my 20% for Weight Watchers even though they really do not do 20%. I have read just having a 10% weight loss will help you so much in regards to health. I know that 20% will do me even better. I feel so much better having a goal and even if I do not win anything in this challenge, I know that I am working toward that goal of a 20% weight loss.

I am sorry to my fellow Biggest Loser contestants. There are so many blogs I just have not made the time to get to all of them or the time to update my list on my blog, which makes it easier to go visit all of you, but I will try to visit each blog at least 2 times next month.
In case some of you don't know my story, I'd like to share it with you again(or for the fisrt time) with some updates. I started trying to lose weight in January 2008 after I had what I like to call my wake-up call! I think most people who are extremely overweigh have at least one of these in there lives. I cut my finger in the kitchen when some bowls fell out of the cabniet and I tried to catch them and they broke in my hand. I went to the clinic to get some stitches and my blood pressure was so high they would not let me leave the clinic until they got it lowered and I started blood pressure meds that day. I also remember not believing my weight, as I had been scared to get on a scale. I knew it was bad but I never dreamed I was over 300 pounds. I went home knowing I was going to have to do something about it but not really knowing how to start or what to do because there was not a lot of money. I remember seeing Tammy post something about a Biggest Loser Competition and how they were going to start blogs. It hit me that this was my answer. I could get support from people online through a blog and while I did not join that year in the challenge as the fee was much higher then. They let me be a supporter and while I gained no money, I gain a lot of support from the participants and people in blogland struggling too. I noticed several people were doing Weight Watchers and had remembered hearing really good things about it. I even met a woman who had lost 100 pounds doing Weight Watchers and it never hit me then that I should do it. I knew we did not have the money for me to go to Weight Watchers so I went searching for infromation on the webas to how to get started and also some friends told me some about it. I lost 8 pounds the first week and conitnued until I lost about 25 pounds on my own and then felt a need to go check weight watchers out. We used our income tax money to pay for the fees and I have loved the support I have gotten from there. It is my motivation for the week. I lost 80 pounds by October of 2008. I really just yo-yoed until the end of the year but I stayed in the 240's. I remember going to a Christmas party that I had gone to the year before I started losing weight and my husband had taken a picture of me sitting in a chair. I remember that picture and I remember not being able to sit in the chair because I was so big! I have a new picture from the same party in 2008 and I wanted to take a picture and it felt so good that I could sit in the chair. (Here are those pictures if you want to look)In Jan 2009 my blood pressure meds dosage was lowered and while I am not totally off of them I know I will be eventually. I have had success, but I struggle everyday with food and food choices. If I had to list some things that help me with that struggle I'd show you this list: personal prayer, my blog, weight watchers meetings, online supporters, weight watchers tools for living (i think that's book 3) and my family. I don't know if I will ever not have a problem with food but I know I can and will get to the weight I desire. Thanks for listening to my story and all of those who have helped me along the way! Good Luck to all of you in your challenge for weight loss.
Here are some of my weight loss pictures if you want to see how I was doing.

News from Weigh ins!

I did not post my weigh in results from last week. I had a gain of .6. So not going in the right direction. This week has been so hard with Halloween parties and my kids Halloween candy buckets in site. I bought some Weight Watchers candy to help beat the need to steal some candy from those buckets. So, I don't know how tommorrow's weigh in will go, but we shall see. :)

Another Weigh-In!

 Fitness on Friday
I was at my families house most of the week. I went to a Weight Watchers meeting where they live at that was just down the street. They did things a whole lot different than my meeting, so that was interesting. I learned that the leader was someone I knew who had grown up with that lived on the street that I lived on as a child. I weighted in at 260 pounds. I lost 2.2 pounds and have now lost a total of 63.8 pounds. So, who knows maybe I will be closer to my goal of losing 100 pounds by the end of this year?!? I enjoyed being at my parents house. They live on a street with sidewalks, very different than where I live! I got up everyday, but one (it was pouring the rain), and went for a 30 minute walk. It felt so good to be walking again and at that time of the morning it also felt really nice out. The exercise really gave me the boost I have needed. I also had plenty of fresh garden veggies. I made a salad everyday(twice I should say!:) and it was so good! I got to bring a whole lot home too! So, I will be eating fresh tomatoes and cucumbers for awhile! :) I came at the perfect time because the tomatoes had just turned red. I know next week I am going to lose another Weight Watchers Point! I guess that's okay though!

Weigh-in and "Focus"

Last night I had my weigh in. I lost all that I had gained last week and a little bit more. I weighed 274.6. That means I have lost 49.2 pounds since starting. I really can't believe that I have almost lost 50 pounds!!!!!!! Since going to weight watchers, I have lost 22.8 pounds in 2 months. I have 2.2 pounds more to lose before I get my 25 pound charm and 6.2 pounds before I get my 10% since going to weight watchers to get my key chain. I get a charm to put on my key chain before I get my key chain lol! So, sometime this summer I will get that key chain! I am so excited!

Our meeting last night was about FOCUS and the power of it. She asked these questions that you might want to ask yourself.

1. What distracts you from your weight loss dreams this time of year?

2. What events, chores, emotions etc. might keep you from seeing your winning outcome(book3) clearly?

3. What do you want to achieve this summer?

4. Why is it important to focus on remedies, not faults?

She also gave us a list of things to do to make our weight loss goals a priority:

1. Write it down (Track your food)

2. Keep it handy

3. Ask for help

4. Make time for yourself (including Weight Watchers Meetings)

5. Be selective about what takes up your time

6. Learn to say NO

7. Use meal ideas in Eat Wisely and member kits for quick and easy meal ideas.

8. Stay active

"When you focus on what you want, it will come into your life."

"When you focus on being a happy and motivated person that is who you will be."

from 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself

I hope all of us on this weight loss journey will learn how important FOCUS really is!

Good luck this week!

I have now lost over 40 pounds!

My Weight Watcher Meeting last night was a pleasant surprise! I lost another 2 pounds. I weighed in at 283.6! So, that means I have now lost over 40 pounds! I am so excited!!!!
Our meeting was really interesting. our leader talked about passing the fruit. She told a story about Fergie who had her mother leave at a very young age due to divorce, so she ate to take care of that problem and then she ate after her bad marriage and she gained a lot of weight. Whenever she felt tempted by friends, she would would always have some fruit laying around and she would say pass the fruit instead of eating what everybody else was eating. Our leader encouraged us to go out on a limb because that was where the fruit was located. We also talked about when you tell your friends you are a weight watcher and when you don't. I always tell people, but sometimes there are benefits to not telling people. Like if you took something to a potluck, if you don't tell them your food is weight watcher friendly people will be more likely to eat it and never know it is "diet" food. Whereas if you did tell them, they might never try it. So, overall good meeting!

Weigh in

Last night I lost .4 pound. Yes, that is all. I have decided not to worry about my weigh ins. I can't do anything about it except do the best I can on selecting my food, so that is what I am going to do. So now I have lost 38.2 pounds. That's good. only 17 more to reach my 10 percent!!!

Last week. I had a Weight Watcher Smoothie every morning with ff milk for 3 points each and you get your two dairy in. So, I did not do as well last week so I have been reading and lots of people say when they do get all of there dairy in that they seem to lose more on those weeks. so, I am going to try it this week. I know there is lots of research to prove this theory, so now I am going to see if it helps me? I love the new orange WW smoothies! Taste like a dreamsicle!

Weight Watchers Weigh In #3

Well, I lost 3.6 pounds at my weigh in tonight for this week! That is 8.2 pounds since I have been going. I also got my first 5 star! I have lost a total of 34.6 pounds since I started in January! Hooray! I weighed in at 289.2. I'm out of the 290's! Barely, but I am out!

Weight Watchers Meeting #2

I just got back from my WW meeting and I lost another 4.6 pounds. I did not exercise much at all this week either because I felt so bad! The scale at WW and my scale are a little different and I was weighing in first thing in the morning and now I am weighing in at night so my weigh in looks higher than last week at 292.8, but with the time of weigh in in mind I did lose weight this week.
We talked about Easter and how to get through it with all the food. We were suppose to talk about the Core program but we never got to that? The Core plan does not sound real good to me anyways, but maybe I am wrong? Our leader read this poem called watch out for the chocolate bunnies. I wish she would have given us a copy because it was really good. Something like you just eat the ears and then it goes to the tail and before you know it it is all gone. So, everyone watch out for the chocolate bunnies.
I also bought some smoothies and some Peanut Butter Bliss Bars, which they have not had any for 6 months. They said they probably will not get anymore for another 6 months? I only bought one box because I want to try them first and man the WW food is not cheap so I probably will not be buying much anyways.

Monday Morning Weigh-In

Well, first let me say this was a very hard week for me! I started out doing so well and then my dh's grandfather died and we were gone from home a lot! We ate out at an all you can eat steak house one night. I have read some articles on how you should eat at these places and I pretty much followed it. A big salad first then fruits and veggies and then a lean meat, I had chicken instead of steak. Doing this really helped me stay on track. I was pretty full before I even started on the chicken! I also am looking at eating out in a different way now. I do try to watch my portions and fat in things while eating out, but eating out is such a luxury for us when we do go, I am going to stop worrying about it and just enjoy it instead of feeling so guilty. I counted all my points that day except the eating out because I really had no clue on some of the things as this restaurant does not have nutritional facts online or in the restaurant. I also was snowed in for a day and really snacked a lot! I did snack on healthy things usually 1-3 point items, but my points really added up that day! Still though I have a BIG weight loss for this week! Last week I weighted 298.6. This week, I weighed in at 293.2! That is another 5.4 pounds GONE! I am going to start making some weekly goals and then I will report back here at my weekly weigh-ins as to how I did.
Here are my goals for this week:
  1. I am going to exercise! I am setting a goal of getting 12 activity points this week. That would only be about 4 days of exercise.
  2. I am going to work on getting my servings of fruits and veggies in at least 5 servings.
  3. I am going to get my dairy servings in at least 2.
  4. I am going to drink my water, at least 6 glasses a day. I am going to try for at least 80 ounces!
  5. Do a better job at planning my dinners and have points ready so I can plan my day.

So, here I go off for another good week, I hope!

Update: I forgot to add something really important to me. This weekend we went to Wal-Mart. I had some time to myself and decided to go try on some clothes. I don't want to buy a lot of new clothes because I am planning to shrink a bit more, you know. But, I did need a few things. One thing I tried on was jeans! I cannot remember the last time I wore "real" jeans. Maybe college? (that's over 10 years ago) I wore those elastic waist jeans, you know where the elastic goes all around before I got pregnant and then my stomach would not even fit into those after the twins were born. Well, I tried on those "real" jeans and they fit! I am even in a size smaller. I told my dh this is what I was going to buy for myself after reaching my first goal of being under 300! So, I got into those jeans and I really feel so happy! I will take a picture this week along with my regular monthly picture! So stay tuned!

Monday Morning Weigh In

Today I weighed in at 298.6 pounds. Last week I was 299.2 pounds. So, that is a lose of .6 pound. Not much, but I will take it. I know I need to exercise more. I think I only exercised twice last week. I seem to get a better loss on the weeks I exercise more. I am working on getting a group of people together to exercise once a week together. This would also get me out of the house a little bit and around adults. I will try and see what I can do, I know a few people are interested. Wish me luck.

Monday Morning Weigh-In and a New Goal!

Well today is weigh in day and after gaining some ounces last week, I was determined to lose something this week. I not only lost, but I reached my first goal of getting under 300 pounds!!! I weighed in at 299.2 today! Last week I weighed 302.4, so I lost 3.2 pounds! I could not be happier! I reached my first goal. So, now I need to set another goal. I thought about 250, but I think I would really get frustrated with that, so my new goal is to get below 270, that is like about the same amount that I did in this first goal, so I really think it will be a good goal for me. I can't remember weighing 270 pounds. I think probably I weighed that in college, but that was over 10 years ago so for me that would be wonderful. My WW Points also go to 31 points now. That scale right now looks pretty good to me, but I know I got a long road ahead of me! Baby steps are going to get me there!!! Thanks to all of you for being there for me! I really think that the support from this blog has truly helped me.

Monday Morning Weigh-In

Well like I said in my last post, I knew I was going to gain some. I weighed in today at 302.4. Last week I was 301. 8, so I gained .6 pound. I guess that is not bad, but I am going to do everything I said in my last post to help me do better this week!

Monday Morning Weigh-In

Well I weighed in today at 301.8. That is my scale in the photo. The glass seems to make it harder to take a picture with the glare it gets, but I think you can still read it! So, that is a 3.2 pound weight loss for this week. I am really happy with that! It was a really hard week too with birthday and anniversary, so I probably would have lost more if I had not had those. So, this week I am hoping to get out of the 300's!!!!! I planned in some low point treats for Valentine's Day in my menu plan this week to help me stay good. lol! You can see my weight loss ticker if you scroll down, but I have lost 22 pounds!

Monday Morning Weigh-In

I really did not want to weigh in today! I really thought that I did not do good enough to lose anything, yes I stayed in my points, but I just really did not have the kinds of food that I wanted to eat. I got on the scales today and said a little prayer, like that was going to help me! But you know it did make me feel more peaceful about the number. I know you want to know, right? Well, I weighed in today at 305. I only lost 1 pound, but hey I really thought I was going to gain a pound! So, I guess that number don't look too bad. I guess I am just so used to losing at least 5 pounds a week that one pound kind of scared me. I like to read other weight loss blogs they inspire me. One is the WW Chic. She is a WW leader and writes and has really neat stuff in her blog. This week she has an article about 1 pound of fat. Nobody ever wants to lose one pound of fat they want bigger numbers so the one pound of fat just stays around. Makes me kind of think how I felt when it was only one pound. You should go and read that article here. It will really make you feel differently about losing ONLY one pound! So, I celebrate you being gone, you ONE pound!!!!!
This next week I am going to try harder and make sure I exercise!!! I have a tough week because I plan to eat some birthday cake and ice cream! It is my son Neil's First Birthday. I should be able to celebrate my babies first year, right? I guess that is why WW gives you the 35 flex points to be used each week. I try really hard not to use them but this week I may have to use them. Because not only is it my baby's first birthday, but it is my anniversary. My baby was born on our anniversary. So, I got two big things to celebrate this week, but I know I can do it! Lot's of you tell me that I am an inspiration to people who come to visit me, so I guess that makes me feel better. Well, I feel the same way about all of you that visit me. You all really help me a lot! I knew I needed to do something. but I just had not figured out what or how until Tammy stated on her blog that she was starting Biggest Loser and they were doing a format that I love-blogs! So, we all can encourage each other. Thanks to all of you for being there on my BAD days as well as my good days!

Monday Weigh-In Morning!

Well it's Monday Weigh-In Morning and I am smiling on the other side of the computer! I weighed in today at 306! That is another 7.6 pounds off! That's 17.8 pounds for me! I am so excited! In just a few weeks, I will probably meet my first goal of being UNDER 300 pounds and I am so excited! I just want to say thanks to everyone who comes and cheers me on at this blog and my other blog! To see all of my progress go here.

Monday Morning Weigh In!

Well, I am down to 313.6! That means that I lost 2.2 more lbs. this week. That is a total of 10.2 for me! I am so excited. ( To see all of my progress, go here. You can also see my before pictures there that have a new look. Thanks Tammy!) I had a really rough week too. I ate out twice. Last night my dh ordered pizza and it had pepperoni on it. I ate one huge piece. (They were all huge!)They were cute in huge pieces. I did not even count my pounds yesterday. I hope everyone eats that pizza today so I am not tempted to eat it today. I know it was BAD because I had grease running down my hands from it! It is from a new Pizza place in town that dh really wanted to get a pizza from.(They had a special) I also went on a church trip and it was hard because I really did not know what to pick because I did not know where we were going beforehand and could not do research on the points for that restaurant, but I ended up doing pretty well. I was kind of surprised that people at church yesterday asked me if I was losing weight. I told them I had lost about 10 pounds and they told me that they could tell. That made me feel so good! I have not really felt like I had lost anything except in my stomach, it has felt a little different this week. I am so glad I made this decision and I really hope I can keep it up. My small goal right now is to get below 300 pounds. I have a closet full of clothes that would probably start fitting me again! don't forget to scroll down for my food log and weekly menu plan.

I need to just get this over with...

I need to tell you all how much I weigh. Now first I will tell you that nobody ever believes me when I tell them how much I weigh. When the nurses weigh me at the doctor, I tell them where to move the scale to and they say no way and I say yes! Monday morning I weighed myself and I weighed 323.8 pounds. No one in the Biggest Loser contest even weighs close to that. But that is me and I got to accept that that is my starting point. When you all see my pictures you won't believe it either but that is my weight. I come from a family of women who have weight problems. I weighed 299 when I brought my last baby home almost 1 year ago, so I have gained about 20 pounds in one year. Ouch! I know I can do this though! I have made that decision. My doctor told me that I should join WW, but you know WW cost money and I really don't have enough of that right now, so I researched WW online and I really seem to like it so far, I got a few things I need to work on but overall I like it. The support you all are giving me really helps me. Thanks so much for visiting and I plan to help all of you too by visiting your weight loss blogs. If I don't have you linked on my sidebar please let me know where to find your blog so I can give you support too. Hope you all have a great day!
