Looking Back

Looking back is always a great thing to do. It helps us see how far we have gone. I like to look back at the end of a year. I got a lot to look back on this year. These pictures really show that for me! I know that I did not lose the 100 pounds that I wanted to lose this year, but I also know that 77 pounds is a lot of weight and as I can see in these pictures I look so much better. I think I can truly say that I was Looking Great in 2008 and will be Looking Fine in 2009! Enjoy...these made me feel good!

1. Church Christmas Party 2008
What a HUGE difference, I can actually sit in the chair!

2. Church Christmas Party 2007

I hated my dh for taking this picture, but now I am so glad that I have it!

I remember not being able to sit in that chair because I was so big!

3. Our Christmas Card picture for 2007
Wow! My face looks so different!

4. Our Christmas Card picture for 2008, I look so different!

Over all I am so proud of myself this year! I know that I am so much happier. Some things I got to do this year that I could not do when I was heavier:
1. Wear jeans!
2. Wear panty hose!
3. Wear clothes that are about 4 sizes smaller!
4. Eat healthier!
5. Walk about 2 miles at a time without dying!
6. Read a story to my kids without feeling like I can't breathe!
7. Wrap a towel all the way around my body!
8. Fit behind the steering wheel in my car!
9. Not overeat! I've learned portion control something that was always hard for me.
10. I'm happier! I can see it in my pictures and people tell me they see it!

WOW! Lorie, the pictures speak louder than words, and certainly louder than your goal of 100 pounds for the year. 77 has obviously made a HUGE difference in your life. I love your list of things you can do now, and totally relate to the towel, the panty hose, etc. Keep blogging! You have touched more lives than you'll ever know. Here's to a fabulous 2009, friend!

You should be very proud of your 77 lbs lost and all of those NSVs. Looking at those face shots, you look a lot younger, too!

Happy new year!

Lorie, you are an inspiration! Way to stick with your goal and do the things that make you happier, all the year through (and I have no doubt you'll keep up your new habits throughout 2009 and beyond). Seeing those pictures, you can tell that you've come such a long ways ... for that you deserve major kudos! Congratulations!!

And I promise I didn't just call you an inspiration because the three previous posters did. :-P LOL But hey, great minds think alike, I guess!

I just found your blog today and wow! You look great!

I know what you mean about old photos and current ones. I have my "big girl" photo on the fridge and people look at it and say, "Who is that?"

And wrapping the towel around your body. I SO, SO, SO get that! : )

I have enjoyed walking with you the past year on your journey and all I have to say is, you look TERRIFIC!!! I so admire the 77 lbs. you lost and I have faith in you that you can reach that 100 mark. Those pictures are amazing! I am sending you big cyberspace hugs for your accomplishment. Just think, you move better, breath better, you will be around longer for your family. You lost a little person. You have helped me along my journey the past year of losing. I am back on track and really want to make 2009 the year that I change my eating habits. Thank you for your faithfulness to your blog in helping others get inspired....YOU ROCK!
