Fitness on Friday

Well its time for another Fitness on Friday hosted by Natalie at Bye Bye Fat Mom! I always forget to do it. I think that is because my week starts on Wednesday. Anywhoo. I have been doing really well! I have almost lost 50 pounds, I am so close. But really for me 50 pounds is only the beginning! I have a long way to go! I think that with loss weight, it is the mini goals that get you there when you have so much to lose! For those that do not know me, I have been doing Weight Watchers. I weighed in lat week at 274.6, that was a 1.8 pound loss. My next mini goal was to get under 270 and I am just so close, I can taste it! Last week it rained a lot and I only got to exercise 1 time. I vowed to do better this week. I did not walk at all on Wednesday, but last night I went for a super long walk-2 miles. I need to make sure that I continue doing that this week. I think I see a better number on the scale when I get that exercise in. I started this journey really heavy (323 pounds) and walking was really the only thing I could do. Now I still really like walking but I like to walk at a more brisk pace so I get a really great walk. I go around the track 12 times. I only have 30 minutes to exercise, so I set my timer and walk and each time I get a little farther than before and I can do it. We have this ramp that we go down to get into the park and it is straight down so it really is not something I want to go do after a walk but I can get up it now.

I really have learned so much in 5 months of trying to lose weight that I really believe that I will always be watching what I eat. I just do not know why it took me so long to get where I am today?

Have you every tried to figure out your BMI. Personally, I knew I was morbidly obese so that was not something I really wanted to look at, but it is something I want to know know that I am doing something about it. Here is a website you can go to to figure out your BMI. I encourage you to go see what yours is. My BMI has gone down about 10 points so I have to be doing something for my health, right?

Well a lot of people tell me that they come here to see my recipes and get some motivation. So, I have been playing with the idea for a long time to start a weekly meme where people come once a week and share healthy recipes. I do not have a name for it yet and I really want to learn more about Mr. Linky before I start but I really think I can do this and it is something I WANT to do. I just wonder if anyone else would be interested in sharing there recipes once a week? Would you be interested? I am going to give some more thought about a real creative name this week and then hopefully report back to you next week about some plans for it. Please leave me any feed back you have about this in my comments and thanks for reading.
I will end by linking to some recipes I have reviewed lately and I wish everyone a great week!
Bruschetta Chicken Bake
Chex Party Mix
Cheeze-It Chicken
Southwestern Cheesy Chicken Skillet
Gooey Cinnamon Rolls
Dreamsicle Cake

Oh and I take a monthly photo so I can see my weight loss so you might be interested in this:

I would love to participate in a weekly recipe swap, if you did it. I'm always looking for new healthy (and inexpensive) recipes.

Also - congratulations on your weight loss to date! How does it feel? Beside just pounds, are you noticing differences in your energy level, things like that?

The mini goals is all that keeps me motivated. I feel elated each time I lose weight, be it 4 pounds or a half pound! :)

I am almost to my 10% goal now, and I am so PUMPED!

I still have a ways to go to be actually "fit" but WW is helping me SO MUCH :)

You're doing amazing! I have about 50 pounds to lose and it's killing me! I'm not succeeding, but I'm trying. Now if I can just shake this strep throat and pink eye so I can get back to work. LOL!
